THE ART

Dubuffet's Group of Four Trees is a 45-foot-tall sculpture in Manhattan’s Chase Manhattan Plaza, completed in 1972. Made of fiberglass and epoxy resin, its bold, whimsical forms are painted in Dubuffet’s signature black-and-white lines, creating a playful contrast against the surrounding skyscrapers. The tree-like shapes evoke a sense of spontaneity and wonder, offering an unexpected touch of nature in the heart of the financial district.

Why We Love It: Group of Four Trees provides a much-needed moment of calm amidst the rush of the city. Whether you're pausing during a morning run or taking a break from your day, its playful design invites you to slow down, breathe, and reset. It’s a reminder that even in the busiest environments, there’s room for lightness and creativity.
