"Consistency. Nothing more nothing less. With this you can achieve anything you set your mind to, no matter how big your dreams."
BIANCA ZEHRA
In conversation with powerful humans who grace our photography. Meet friend of Pruzan Bianca Zehra (@biancazehra):
Where are you from and what do you do?
BZ: I was born in the North London, raised in Hertfordshire but originally my parents are from Mauritius. I work as a freelance Lifestyle Stylist.
How has running shown up in your life?
BZ: I have used running on and off as a tool to let go of day to day life challenges my whole life, I tend to run solo to help clear my head with no distractions. It still amazes me what length’s you can push the body. However recently I have started running in a group with friends The impact this has on the rest of my day is so joyful. We will talk and joke the whole way and at the end there’s a huge sense of group achievement. There’s something about working out together that builds a next level bond.
Any other movement practices you love?
BZ: Coming up to two years ago now, I started training in a different way alongside running. This time the focus was all about movement, and feeling light and floaty. It’s just you, your thoughts, your body and the ground. You quickly recognise your weaknesses and in order to conquer them you must first surrender to them fully. I love it because it feels playful, but at the same time the strength that it takes to move with grace makes you sweat!
Any mantras you like to live by, in running or in life?
BZ: The mantra I live by that applies to everything, is simply consistency. Nothing more nothing less. With this you can achieve anything you set your mind to, no matter how big your dreams.
Any brands or movement leaders who inspire you?
BZ: Other than my friend and coach Alberto, Japanese body expression artist Hikaru Kawasaki inspires me. He makes movement appear seamless and liquid like. Watching him perform is definitely motivation to train harder.
