Julia Meyer, originally from Queens, NY, is a dedicated social media and community growth strategist, model, and podcast co-host. She recently co-led the Melting Miles Run with Pruzan in NYC, where her commitment to running, community, and personal growth is evident. In our conversation, Julia discusses her journey into running, the founding of Point B Movement, and the valuable lessons she has gained throughout her experiences.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you based? Your work and interests?
J: I was born and raised in Queens, NY. I wear a few hats—mainly I am a social media and community growth strategist, but also a copywriter, model, co-host a podcast called The Nines all about various iterations of success, and am the founder of Point B Movement, a collective for athletes in NYC.
Pruzan: How did you get into running?
J: I was freelancing for a physical therapy practice that works heavily with runners. Initially, I wanted to run a marathon for my 25th birthday (quarter life crisis?!) and was a bit too scared. When I acquired this client, I was 26. With all the knowledge at my fingertips, I thought better late than never! One of the coaches from the practice was kind enough to write me a program and got me over my fear of both the winter and running as I started training January 1, 2021, for the last Brooklyn Marathon hosted in April. It was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life, but I have zero regrets!
How would your friends describe you?
J: Ha—dedicated, loyal, a bit unhinged, and very funny.
What is Point B Movement? Why does it exist?
J: Point B Movement is a collective for athletes, both new and seasoned, to running looking to round out their practice. Of course, we host a weekly run, but we also host other fun events surrounding strength, breath work, and some cross-training, like cycling! Simply put, it’s a space for athletes to go from point A to B together, in community. Follow us on Instagram!
Any standout run experiences that you've had in the past year?
J: Starting Point B Movement has been an experience in and of itself. Taking the step to start my own collective was a bit nerve-wracking but has also been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done for my friends, community, and lastly, myself.
Any races upcoming?
J: I am set to do Copenhagen Half and then Berlin Marathon this fall, and am signed up for London 2025!
Any goals in sight for 2025?
J: I’d just like to continue being strong, dial in on my paces, and set a new PR in the marathon.
Tell us about your experience wearing your Pruzan set during Melting Miles.
J: I loved everything! The 2-pocket system in the shorts was great; I never chafed, and the shorts didn’t ride up my thighs. The bra hugged but didn’t hold me too tightly. I also felt the coolest… or hottest?!? in the mesh top! Really liked the cinch detail.

Any go-to brands for training, racing, or recovery?
J: I fuel on Spring or Maurten—love the natural ingredients of Spring and the power Maurten gives me. I also try to stay consistent with a good multivitamin, chlorophyll in the morning, and a good melatonin and magnesium in the evening before bed. I love my Miler half tights and 2-in-1 Work & Dirt shorts from their brand. We also love the Oakley eye jacket for a less intense pair of running shades. Outside of those physical pieces, I cannot stress the importance of recovery. Sauna, ice baths, and sleep are 100% my go-to when I’m feeling off. And, as someone who was once a bit anti woo-woo… Acupuncture works wonders! I highly recommend it.
Any mantras you like to live by, in running or in life?
J: Never forget to simply have fun and run your own race—My friend and training buddy, Rich Alleyne, reminded me just the other day that comparison is the thief of joy. It’s stuck with me, and so here I am passing along the sentiment so many of us lose sight of.
